The death toll from last month’s landslide in Washington state has risen to 41. That’s up two from Wednesday, when the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office updated the news media on recovery efforts. A rain-saturated hillside along the Stillaguamish River gave way on the outskirts of the rural town of Oso on March 22. Search crews have been digging through deep mud and debris, which is 70 feet thick in some places, to search for the missing.
