While the circumstances surrounding the medical emergency are unclear, witnesses claimed the cop became upset over a parking issue.
The firefighter was the first to arrive on scene. He left his truck on the side of the road with the lights on his vehicle still flashing. Paramedics then showed up followed by the officer.
When the law enforcement authority requested that the truck be moved and the fireman refused to do so, the cop handcuffed him and placed him in the back of the squad car for approximately 15 minutes.
The firefighter had reportedly been rendering aid at the time he was cuffed. One witness to the scene is outraged at what she saw and expressed concerns over future emergency situations.
The police chief says no disciplinary action will be taken against the officer, despite the fact that state laws cite it as illegal for any person “intentionally hindering, delaying, hampering, interfering with, or impeding the progress” of any fireman.
