Any item that’s proven to be associated with the Titanic is going to sell for big money.
An exceptionally rare menu will soon be up for auction in England. This menu in particular offers second class fare.
Numerous other menus have surfaced from the sunken ship, but the majority has been for first class food. Second class ones are far harder to come by.
Andrew Aldridge from Henry Aldridge & Son auction house commented “I’ve been doing this for the better part of 20 years and I’ve sold seven menus from the Titanic in that time, but they’ve all been first-class. So the second-class ones are the rarest of the rare…This particular menu is the only second-class menu that’s ever been offered for auction.”
The postcard menu destined for the auction block is dated April 11th, 1912 and it boasts grilled sausage, mashed potatoes, grilled ox kidneys, bacon along with fried eggs and oatmeal for fare.
This menu is only the second one that has ever been found. Auctioneers predict it will sell for $150,000.
