Good morning, Mark. A wave of Syrian refugees are pouring into Turkey, as Kurdish forces fought off Islamic State militants since last Thursday.
According to Turkey′s chief of disaster management… the mostly Kurdish Syrians… were running from an area near the border town of Kobani. He said 100-thousand refugees have been logged in less than a week.
A local defense official said the jihadists targeted fleeing civilians as well, armed with tanks, artillery and multiple rocket launchers.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said I-S now has 64 villages in northern Syria under its control, with some 800 Kurds missing.//
This as Muslim leaders are calling on the Islamic State group to release kidnapped British aid worker Alan Henning… and step away from committing the “worst condemnable sin” against Islam.//
U.S. President Barack Obama is set to address the United Nations General Assembly this week. Ahead of it, he iterated that the fight was not the U.S. versus I-S… but the world against the Islamic State group.
