Typhoon warning lifted on Jeju Island as Neoguri heads to Japan

Our top story this morning…
The typhoon warning on Korea’s southernmost resort island of Jeju has been lifted… as Typhoon Neoguri makes its way north towards Japan.
Neoguri is expected to make landfall on Kyushu this Thursday morning but residents on Jeju will see strong winds and some more rain for the next few hours at least.
Waves of up to eight meters high are expected along Korea’s southern and southeastern coasts.
Neoguri has now weakened to a tropical storm but officials in Japan say it could still bring heavy rain and violent winds to eastern Japan, including Tokyo by Friday.
Kyusu has already seen record amounts of rain over the past week and warnings for floods, strong winds and landslides are already in effect.
