Oscar Pistorius murder trial: Reeva Steekamp’s family hears tearful apology from paralympic athlete as he takes to the stand to start defence. Weeping and stuttering, he said: “I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to Reeva’s family, to those of you who knew her who are here today, to her friends. There hasn’t been a moment since this tragedy happened that I haven’t thought about your family.” It was the first time Oscar has spoken in public about Reeva’s death, which he says was an accident. He pleaded not guilty to her murder when the trial opened last month. Report by Ashley Fudge.
