IOWA CITY, Iowa (AP) — The FBI is seeking the public’s help in identifying the person who may be responsible for three unsolved bank robberies in eastern Iowa.
The FBI said Tuesday that it believes that the same person, or two people working together, is responsible for each.
The first two occurred at Citizens State Bank in Oxford Junction last year. The latest occurred Jan. 31 at Ohnward Bank and Trust in Baldwin.
Investigators said the suspect has likely lived in the area because rural gravel roads have been used as escape routes. The getaway vehicles were described as farm trucks.
In each case, a man wearing a fake beard entered the bank and ordered employees to the floor before making off with money. In the first and last robberies, the man had a pistol.
