February Auto Sales Up But Many Miss Analysts' Estimates

TheStreet’s Jim Cramer says although U.S. auto sales for February were anemic, GM is having the greatest year he can recall since the old days. The reason for that, he says, is that gas guzzlers are flying out the doors. General Motors said sales climbed 4 percent. And while that was shy of analysts’ estimates, the automaker saw strength in truck sales which were up 36 percent from last year. Cramer says year over year the company has had bad publicity and Mary Barra has done a great job handling that. He says this is the time for investors to buy GM. Cramer holds the stock in his Action Alerts PLUS charitable portfolio.
